BUSA Korfball National Finals 2008 "Showcasing Student Talent in Korfball" Tournament History BUSA Nationals The tournament takes place every year and is played over two days, traditionally the first weekend of March. For many students, it is the only opportunity on the Korfball calendar to play in a highly competitive environment governed by referees qualified to a national standard. It is the highlight of the student Korfball calendar and one of the most high profile events within the sport in Britain. The winners receive the accolade of being crowned the top university club in Britain. Over the years the tournament has featured some of the top young talent in British Korfball, including Under 23 internationals and many of today's best players once participated in the Student Korfball Nationals. In recent history the tournament has been dominated by UEA and the Sheffield universities (Hallam and Uni), with 8 of the last 5 year's 10 final berths being filled by one of the three sides. The trophy has been among one of those three since Edinburgh's triumph in 2002.
